The Chef's Table
Eight seats at the pass, three metres from the mallee grill. There is no menu — just the day's produce, the fire, and a conversation with the brigade.
Dinner as a working kitchen
The Chef's Table is a marble counter built directly against the open pass. Marcus Bell and his senior team plate in front of you, narrate what the grill is doing, and adjust courses to the answers you give.
The menu is written each afternoon after the supplier walk — it may run eight courses or eleven, and no two nights plate identically. This is the closest thing Adelaide has to eating inside the kitchen itself.

"You smell the smoke, hear the pan, and watch the plate come together. That is the real menu."

Before you book
Weekend seats typically go four to six weeks ahead. Midweek availability is often within a fortnight — solo diners sometimes find same-week stools.
Yes — a private counter buyout runs $1,950 for eight guests, or we can seat partial groups on shared nights. Either way the menu is bespoke to the evening.
Not at all. The team reads the room — some nights are a masterclass in conversation, others are quiet theatre. Both are correct.
The counter is where restrictions shine — the chef builds around them in real time. Flag everything at booking so the walk-in is stocked accordingly.
